Prof. Koichi Itoh, one of the Main Guests, has withdrawn from the convention.

Prof. Koichi Itoh, one of the main guests for the 22nd Japan Flute Convention in KOBE 2025, has withdrawn from the convention. Here are messages from Prof. Itoh and the president of the Executive Committee Prof. Takebayashi

We regret that we will not have the opportunity to enjoy the performances of Prof. Koichi Itoh.

Following Prof. Itoh’s withdrawal, we are pleased to announce that Prof. Nobutaka Shimizu (Vice President of JFA) will serve as the soloist for the final concert. Prof. Shimizu was a main guest at the 19th Japan Flute Convention in Fukuoka in 2019, and his remarkable performance remains memorable. Additionally, he is actively contributing as an executive committee member and head of the Concert Division for the 22nd Convention in Kobe.

Ms. Misato Takimoto, an accomplished flutist and winner of numerous competitions in Japan, including the “Music Competition of Japan,” will present a recital. In addition, Mr. Haruhiko Fukuda—former top student of Prof. Itoh, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, and lecturer at Kyoto City University of Arts—will conduct the master class.

We are confident that participants will greatly appreciate the outstanding events presented by these distinguished flutists.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hidenori Takebayashi
